Score: Sotto un Cielo Lunare di Sangue
For harp and piano [2018]
Duration: c.5½ mins.
Notes:
Sotto un Cielo Lunare di Sangue (Under a Blood Moon Sky) depicts the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century that occurred on the 27th July 2018. I was fortunate enough to witness this incredible event from the clear skies of southern Italy where the experience was particularly extraordinary due to the proximity of Mars illuminated alongside the blood red moon.
It was first performed by Neil Georgeson and Sophie Rocks at Mareel in Lerwick, Shetland on the 14th November 2018.
