Score: Shoaling
For solo harp, electronics and movement sensors [2008]
Duration: c. 4 mins.
Notes:
This piece explores the concept of sound objects as 'shoals" and their associated group transformations and movement in space. The live harp material is 'fed' to each shoal of sound which is further transformed by their independent transformational characteristics. As they shuffle around their designated spatial areas, they become more or less responsive to the live material the closer they are in proximity to the live musician. The electronic and spatial transformations are further influenced by three-dimensional hand held movement and bend sensors which are controlled by the engineer.
