Score: Colour Cycle
For violin and piano [1994 rev.2015]
Duration: c.12 mins.
Notes:
Written in April 1994 and revised in 2015, Colour Cycle is structured in seven sections, each of which is associated with a different primary or secondary colour. In essence, the sections attempt to represent colour in character and gesture through pitch, key and interval association. The unity of the work as a whole lies in the association of colour and musical idea based on the concept of synaesthesia.
Colour Cycle won the Gregynog Composers Award of Wales in 1994.
